About

About Me

With over 45 years of experience in the garment embellishment industry, my journey began as a teenager working in my father’s screen printing and crest-making business. This early exposure to the craft sparked a deep passion for the industry, which led me to explore various roles, gaining expertise in screen printing, embroidery, HTV, DTG, DTF, embroidery digitizing, and graphic design. Along the way, I was fortunate to build lasting friendships and partnerships with incredible mentors, colleagues, and friends.
My greatest role model has always been my father, the hardest-working man I’ve ever known. His ability to craft beautiful, intricate items was unparalleled, with my mother adding her sewing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the steadiest hands to create stunning Felt Cut Crests. They also screen-printed t-shirts, sports uniforms, crests, and more, all while raising ten children. Their work ethic and talent are beyond words, and their influence has shaped my career in ways I will forever be grateful for.

In 1991, I expanded my skills to include embroidery while working as a screen and offset printer at the University of Calgary. When the university purchased an embroidery machine, it sparked my curiosity, and soon after, I was offered a position as a technician and trainer by the company we bought the machine from. This role opened exciting opportunities, including an unforgettable on-site training experience in Yellowknife, NWT. Before leaving Yellowknife, I was offered the position of General Manager at the Jessie Oonark Centre in Baker Lake, NU, a role I deeply cherished. I remain in touch with many of the extraordinary people I worked with there, even 35 years later.
Returning to Calgary, I focused on honing my sales, service, and training skills, this period marked the blossoming of my passion for embroidery. I spent over a month at the Melco Embroidery plant in Denver, Colorado, learning about machine manufacturing, service and embroidery software like Wilcom and Melco EDS3. A comprehensive digitizing session with a Wilcom expert from Melco further fueled my commitment to the craft. Eventually, I ventured out on my own, selling Happy Embroidery Machines and providing digitizing services. I expanded into contract embroidery for some of Calgary’s largest clothing and promotional product companies. When that chapter ended, I moved to Edmonton, where I spent a decade as a regional embellishment manager for a major retail chain. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible individuals, many of whom I still connect with today. I am excited to begin a new chapter with Infinity Embroidery Solutions, where I will leverage my expertise, dedication, and passion to contribute to the growth and innovation of the embroidery industry.
